Soccer star David Beckham is set to sign a contract with Real Madrid for $35 million (£22.6 million).
The US midfielder has agreed to terms with the Spanish club on a new deal worth an initial £21 million, which he will split between two teams.
Beckham will become the third US player to play for Real Madrid, following the likes of John Brooks and John Brooks Jr. in 2017.
Real Madrid are reportedly in the final stages of finalising the deal for Beckham, who was a late entrant to the move.
His move comes just days after the world’s richest footballer, Luka Modric, announced his retirement from international football.
