Hillary Clinton will be held personally accountable for her handling of classified material and for her decision to have her top aides work in the basement of a house where the State Department was located, her office announced on Thursday.
The announcement by her campaign comes after several top aides were charged by the FBI with mishandling classified information on Clinton’s private server.
The indictment against the former secretary of state, who has not been charged with any crime, says the emails were marked classified at the time they were sent and that Clinton had no knowledge of the information being sent.
Clinton’s aides and aides to former President Bill Clinton were also charged with sending classified information to a private server owned by a political donor, who the FBI says received them from the server while the former president was still in office.
